Food Pantry
At La Jornada, we are dedicated to providing a food pantry service to support migrants in times of need. We understand the challenges they face when adapting to a new community and want to ensure they have access to nutritious and quality food.
Our commitment goes beyond just providing food; we strive to offer a variety of options that meet the dietary and cultural needs of each individual. From staples such as rice, beans, and pasta to fresh and healthy products, we work to ensure that every family has what they need to eat properly.
All of this is also made possible thanks to the collaboration of Sharing Excess, Food Bank, and City Harvest, who assist us with food donations.

The food pantry is open on Wednesdays and Saturdays, from 11 a.m. until supplies last.
What type of food is offered in the pantry?
We offer a variety of food items, including staples like rice, beans, pasta, as well as fresh and healthy produce, based on availability. Additionally, I’m thrilled to mention that all of these offerings are made possible thanks to the generous donations from:
- Sharing Excess
- Food Bank
- City Harvest
These organizations contribute food to our pantry, and their support plays a crucial role in ensuring that we can provide a diverse and nutritious selection of food to those in need within our community.
Do you offer any other assistance besides food at the pantry?
In addition to providing food, our pantry also offers information and resources about other available services to assist people in need. It’s worth noting that, thanks to the generous donation from Grace Meng, we have expanded our services to include the distribution of diapers, providing additional support to families in need. This initiative allows us to address the basic needs of our community more comprehensively, strengthening our commitment to providing help and support in difficult times.
